Delta Diablo Welcome Video
As a component of our support for Linked Learning opportunities with high schools in our service area, Delta Diablo staff collaborated with students from Antioch High School Media & Visual Arts Academy to produce a series of videos on our agency as their end of year school project. The first one was titled “Welcome to Delta Diablo” and can be viewed below.
Delta Diablo on DVTV
Delta Diablo is proud to work with senior students at Deer Valley High School’s media “DVTV” Group 5 to create an informative video for their senior project sharing information about how our public wastewater resource recovery agency protects the environment and public health. This video won the 2018 Public Outreach and Education Award from the California Association of Sanitation Agencies.
Wastewater World
Educational video explaining how to prevent fats, oils, and greases (FOG) from damaging homes and the environment. Sewer overflows and backups can cause health hazards, damage home interiors, and threaten the environment. An increasingly common cause of overflows is sewer pipes blocked by grease. Grease gets into the sewer from household drains, garbage disposals, and kitchen sinks. Intended audience is 5th grade science students. Winner of 2008 Best Educational/Amateur Video (Chris Wiggins and Trevor Marsh), California Water Environment Association Film Festival.
"Recycled Water is a Valuable Resource for San Francisco Bay Area" Documentary
Delta Diablo operates one of the largest industrial water recycling facilities in Northern California. Located 50 miles east of San Francisco in the heart of the California Delta, it has generated 21 Billion Gallons of recycled water since 2000. This short documentary demonstrates how an award-winning water quality agency processes recycled water to meet the State's strict regulatory requirements while providing beneficial reuse at two (2) local power plants where it supplies tower cooling water, landscape irrigation at twelve (12) city parks and two (2) local golf courses, and dust control.

2016 East Bay Innovation Award
Delta Diablo was selected as the 2016 East Bay Innovation Award Catalyst from the East Bay Economic Development Alliance. Presented at the Fox Theater in Oakland on February 25 2016, in front of an audience of hundreds from business, government and the non-profit sectors, the event was a result of months-long competition for the best use of innovation across eight industry sectors. Over 100 nominations for the eight categories were submitted. This Catalyst award recognizes Delta Diablo for “transcending organizational boundaries to pull East Bay assets together in new ways and/or catalyze new thinking or processes”. Wipes Clog Pipes
Kudos to Central Contra Costa Sanitary District for creating a great new video to engage kids about the importance of what not to flush down the toilet: Hey Kids! Did you know that clogged toilets can cause icky sewage overflows? One of the main causes for clogged pipes is so-called "flushable" wipes. These wipes are meant for the trash can, not the toilet! So please, remember, if it's not pee, poop, or toilet paper, don't flush it!

No Wipes In The Pipes
Five public wastewater processing agencies in East Contra Costa County (Byron Sanitary District, City of Brentwood, Delta Diablo, Ironhouse Sanitary District and the Town of Discovery Bay) have created a regional public outreach campaign to help customers understand how personal hygiene wipes marked “flushable” or “flush friendly” are often not biodegradable. Titled “No Wipes In The Pipes”, a range of communication tools were used to show how disposing of wipes in toilets can damage residential sewer systems, clog underground pipes, and result in expensive repairs to equipment at their local treatment plant. Districts Make A Difference – Video Competition
In 2018, Delta Diablo continued to support business-education alliances for work-based learning with Antioch Unified School District through their Career Technical Education Pathways and Linked Learning Academies. With the goal of bringing greater meaning and purpose to the students’ high school academic education, as well as assisting students in focusing their career and educational aspirations, our Public Information Office coordinated with Deer Valley High School to submit a student video for the California Special District’s “Districts Make the Difference” public outreach campaign. The campaign was launched to increase public awareness and understanding of special districts. Congratulations to the Deer Valley High School students who won second-place in this state-level award program.
